Projects

Targeted support for specific needs and moments of change

Good Apple offers a range of scoped, time-bound projects that help you solve a defined problem, build a system, or move a key initiative forward. Projects are ideal when you know exactly what needs to happen — and you want a thoughtful partner to help you get it done.

Project availability is limited, and proposals include expiration dates to ensure timely momentum and guaranteed access to our team.

Our Philosophy

Project-based opportunities are:

  • A project has a finish line. We agree on what “done” means up front, what the deliverables are, and how you will use them once they’re in place.

  • Projects run on a set schedule with milestones, working sessions, and clear owners. You will know what is happening each week and what you are responsible for between meetings.

  • Projects go deep in a single domain or problem area, instead of trying to cover everything at once. This keeps the work contained, makes progress visible, and prevents scope creep.

  • Projects are a good fit when you need something built, documented, cleaned up, or made repeatable. Think of this as creating the infrastructure that makes the business easier to run.

  • If there is a specific issue you want resolved, a project gives you a clear path from diagnosis to solution to handoff. We focus on closing the loop, not creating an ongoing dependency.

  • Some projects are pre-work: getting the numbers clean, clarifying roles, tightening operations, or reducing risk before you expand. The goal is to make the next step easier, safer, and less chaotic.

Projects are not for ongoing management, strategic planning, or multi-domain oversight. Those activities are managed in our retainer offering.

Is it a project?

PROJECTS DO

 • Build systems
• Solve specific operational problems
• Set up tools and workflows
• Prepare for a defined milestone
• Create capacity for you or your team
• Deliver a clear outcome within a set timeframe

PROJECTS DON’T

 • Include strategic planning
• Include comprehensive diagnostics
• Guide complex decision-making
• Replace weekly leadership support
• Guarantee support for future work
• Function as “mini-retainers”

FAQs

Can I move into a retainer after completing a project?

Yes. Many clients begin with a project and then transition into ongoing support through our Guided, Managed, or Embedded retainers.

Do projects include planning or multi-domain strategy?

No. Strategic planning and Smart Business Framework diagnostics are included only in retainers. If your business needs multi-domain help, it will be much more affordable to move into a Managed- or Embedded-level retainer than to pay for multiple concurrent projects with Good Apple (or any other partner!).

Do project proposals expire?

Yes. Every proposal includes an expiration date to ensure our availability and ability to fulfill our proposed services in the timeline we’ve offered. If your proposal has expired but you’re ready to start work, you can always ask for a new timeline! We’re happy to refresh the proposal at any time and start work as soon as we are able!

How long do projects take?

Most projects run 4–12 weeks depending on scope and complexity. If your need is complex and the project is large, we will still try to break it into smaller quarter-long sprints to keep the scope manageable and deliverables on track.

Do projects include implementation?

Yes, to the extent defined in the scope. We are really against delivering strategy and plans without training our clients and their teams to implement them! This is a Good Apple standard. Larger implementations or long-term management of programs are better suited to an Embedded-level retainer.
